NEW HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven city leaders stood with the families of two victims of a deadly August shooting Wednesday in a press conference that followed the arrest of the suspect.
City Mayor Justin Elicker, New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson and command staff joined family members of Daiquan Hyman, 26, of East Haven, and Ernest Williams, 32, of New Haven.
Police found Hyman and Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and unresponsive in the area of Dickerman Street on Aug. 25. An ambulance brought them to Yale New Haven Hospital. Hyman was pronounced dead shortly after arrival and Williams died later that evening.
