A Valparaiso Community Schools English Teacher has resigned after a controversial social media post related to the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk sparked public discourse.
Over 50 people were inside the Valparaiso High School auditorium, 2727 N Campbell St., for Wednesday evening’s school board meeting. Valparaiso Community Schools Superintendent Jim McCall announced to the crowd during the meeting that Kathryn Cichocki, a VHS English teacher, had resigned.
Shortly after Kirk was killed during a speaking engagement on the campus of Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, Cichocki posted on her Facebook page an image of Bette Davis that included a quote attributed to the actress, which read, "One should only say good things about the dead ... He's dead
