LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Thousands of Clark County families say they're facing new regulations that could hit their wallets and property values. Clark County health officials are considering major changes to septic systems and liquid waste management.

A proposal is on the table that could affect as many as 18,000 households across Clark County.

The plan would force families off their septic systems and replace them with new hookups -- even if the septic is working properly.

"The amount of this project that's in the hundreds of millions of dollars is absurd compared to what we're going to get from it. They're not thinking this through at all but they're telling us, 'You are going do it, and we're going to make you do it," said homeowner Christian Salmon.
