BRUNSWICK, Ohio – Brunswick and its neighboring communities were well represented in at least one sport at the 2025 National Senior Games in DesMoines, Iowa last month. These are the Olympics for men and women 50 and older and two local competitors came home with silver medals for their table tennis prowess.
In all, 26 sports were played at this year’s championship and Ohioans won 32 gold, 115 silver and 113 bronze medals. Participants play in age groups in 5 year increments: 50-54; 55-59; all the way to more than 100 and there were several people who qualified and competed who were more than 100 years old.
Dr. Marc Williams, who usually plays table tennis with a group that meets several times a week at the Cleveland Clinic Brunswick location. “To qualify for nationals,” he explained, “y
