ATLANTA — Georgians will have no shortage of options in the upcoming race to become the state’s next governor.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, is the latest to enter the growing field of contender. He joined what's shaping up to be a crowded Republican primary when he launched his campaign for governor last Wednesday,

In a one-on-one interview with 11Alive’s Zach Merchant, co-anchor of The Georgia Vote , Raffensperger laid out why he’s running.

“I want to be governor to make Georgia affordable and safe. Simple as that,” Raffensperger said.

The Secretary of State voiced his support for efforts to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States, saying that could help raise incomes for Georgians.
