ATLANTA — Georgia’s 2026 race for Secretary of State is shaping up as a battleground over voting access, election security, and the role of the state in protecting those who will cast their ballot.

Among the candidates throwing their hats in the ring for this race is a political newcomer. At just 25 years old, Adrian Consonery Jr. is running as a Democrat. The Marietta native joins a field that includes, who some consider, the current Republican front runner, Gabriel Sterling , who served as chief operating officer for current Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger.

In the Democratic Primary, Consonery is currently facing former judge Penny Brown Reynolds.
