SUFFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) - Evacuations are underway due to a "major" gas leak happening in Suffield Township.

The Suffield Fire Department took to social media on Wednesday night, confirming that firefighters are on the scene of a leaking natural gas well.

"It is a major leak," the fire department wrote. "We are evacuating the area."

Residents are asked to avoid the area of Palm Road from Randolph to Saxe at this time.
