SHREVEPORT, La. -- Shreveport police have identified a man wanted in connection with a mass shooting that left two people dead and six injured.

An arrest warrant has been issued for one of the suspected shooters, Rasson Smith Jr., 21, for attempted second-degree murder. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.

Police said Smith is a suspected gang member and is considered armed and dangerous. Based on multiple sources of information, detectives believe he has no hesitation in using a firearm.

"Locating him is a critical step in bringing resolution to this violent event," Cpl. Chris Bordelon said.

Police believe additional suspects were involved, and further arrests and charges are expected as evidence develops.
