MINDEN, La. -- A deadly crash Wednesday afternoon left one woman dead and sent another to jail, state police said.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 1:35 p.m. on state Highway 518 near Posey Lane and claimed the life of Eva Hunt, 63, of Doyline.

Troopers said Tiffany Conley, 35, was westbound on Highway 518 in a Dodge Durango when she left the road, hit an embankment and overturned.

Conley and Hunt, who was in the front passenger seat, were wearing seatbelts, troopers said.

Conley sustained sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Hunt died at the scene.

Troopers suspected Conley was impaired. She was booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center on a charge of vehicular homicide.
