Former Russian Olympic ice hockey coach Vladimir Plyushchev has blamed ‘petty bisexuals’ for the country’s exclusion at the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics.
Russia has been banned from competing in the Olympics since since Vladimir Putin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Athletes from Russia did not compete at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024, with only 15 sportspeople from the nation competing as ‘neutral’ athletes, and the country will not be allowed to send athletes to the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina – locations across Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
