An ethics complaint has been lodged against a candidate running in the heated race for a City Council seat to represent parts of Uptown, Lakeview and Mid-City.

Aimee McCarron has signs all over Lakeview.

She's a candidate in the race for City Council District A, vying to replace Joe Giarrusso.

And her signs are now at the center of a complaint filed with the state ethics board.

"I've reviewed everything, and these are just false statements," said McCarron.

The complaint says McCarron failed to report key campaign spending, including a July mailer, post-qualifying campaign signs, and several fundraiser and meet-and-greet events.

She denies the allegations.
