LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Both the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and Hamilton Christian School officials have launched an investigation at the school.

While details haven’t been given, the Hamilton Christian School Board said in a letter to parents that the investigation regards “events alleged to have occurred on campus.”

In a previous letter to parents, the board said Principal Morgan Daugherty has been placed on temporary leave and Meyshana Lunon is serving as interim principal.

The board said the school is “fully cooperating” with law enforcement and has also initiated its own internal review to “determine whether any of our school’s policies and/or procedures were not followed and to identify areas where improvements may be necessary.”
