TOPSY, La. (KPLC) - A $1.1 million increase has thrown a major wrench into the road improvement projects in the Topsy area of Jeff Davis Parish.
“This posed a big financial challenge for the police jury,” Jeff Davis Parish Administrator Ben Boudreaux said,
For the past few years, the Jeff Davis Parish Police Jury has worked on getting a grant to help cover the cost of road improvements on seven different roads.
“We were trying to get this CDBG grant, that’s the Community Development Block Grant. It requires several different parameters for us to obtain that grant,” Police Jury President Steve Eastman said.
