Homeless less a concern than traffic violators
As a downtown Fort Wayne resident the past six years, I feel compelled to share my perspective on an issue that often dominates public discourse about urban living.
I have had countless interactions with our homeless neighbors. I have never once felt threatened or unsafe around homeless individuals. Instead, I have consistently found them to be engaging, friendly and often remarkably resilient people facing difficult circumstances. Many have shared their stories and contributed to the sense of community that makes downtown living rewarding.
