CUSTER, S.D. (KELO) -- South Dakota's 60th Buffalo Roundup is quickly approaching.

It kicks off Friday morning, so crews at Custer State Park are hard at work, making sure the park is ready for a surge in visitors.

Each year, people from all over the United States pour into Custer State Park for the Buffalo Roundup. For many, it's a must-see event.

"You're out here on the prairie in the morning with 20,000 people, I mean, that's just excitement right there. Then you get to see the herd and the cowboys and cowgirls, just so excited to be pushing them and you don't ever get to see that. There's very few places where you get to see cattle or buffalo rounded up so it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience out there," Visitors Center Supervisor Lydia Austin said
