CLEMMONS, N.C. — Thuy Pham has made a strong recovery, but losing her business has left deep emotional and physical scars. She plans to get back on her feet as soon as possible.

A day that was supposed to be filled with appointments went up in smoke at Deluxe Spa & Nails in Clemmons.

Salon owner Thuy Pham tried to fight the fire herself at first.

"I honestly don't even anything in my head, it's just like a reaction, you know?" Pham said.

When she realized she couldn't control it, first responders were called.

The Forsyth County Fire Marshal said a failed multi-outlet power strip caused the fire.

It left Pham with second-degree burns, "on my face, my arm, my ear, the back of my ear," Pham said.
