The PhD, MSc and BSc (current and pass outs) students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in Ludhiana began their indefinite protest Wednesday at Gate No. 1 of the university against the alleged unfulfilled promises of the AAP government to fill vacant government posts of agriculture officers and masters (teachers who teach the agriculture subject in government schools).
The students also marched from the library and protested in front of Thapar Hall, which houses the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
Student leaders of the PAU Students Association (PAUSA) said before coming to power, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had promised that after coming to power, he would appoint masters of agriculture in villages and fill the vacant posts in the agriculture department, but “even after three years o
