KLICKITAT COUNTY, Wash. – Two 911 dispatchers in Klickitat County were recently recognized for their lifesaving efforts in guiding a father through the delivery of his baby over the phone.

The incident occurred on August 31 when a communications officer assisted a father as his wife went into labor without enough time to reach the hospital.

Thanks to the calm instructions and teamwork of Officer Elea and Officer Caroline, baby Vivian was born safely before first responders arrived.

Klickitat County Emergency Management praised the dispatchers for their professionalism and dedication by awarding them the special ‘Stork Pin’ for their exceptional efforts.

This event serves as a beautiful reminder of the critical role 911 teams play, even when help comes from afar.
