A Paradise Hills cyclist was rescued after falling off the edge of a trail and descending dozens of feet down a cliff.
Keith Leyva, 57, was severely injured and stuck at the bottom for some six hours before a Customs and Border Protection team heard his cry for help.
The patrol was in the right place at the right time to rescue trail rider Leyva who was missing for hours last Saturday.
“I'm panicked: I know it's late and they are not going to be looking at night,” Leyva’s wife, Jennifer Wolschlag, said.
Wolshlag said that, while Leyva is an avid cyclist, she always feared an accident like this could happen.
Leyva was walking his bike on a broken trail when slipped off the edge and went tumbling down a 50-foot cliff. After the fall, he could barely move.
