The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Congress of instigating the recent violence in Ladakh that erupted during protests over statehood and the demand for inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. At a press conference in New Delhi, BJP MP and national spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that Congress councillor Stanzin Tsepang was the “main instigator” behind the unrest, which left four people dead and at least 80 injured, including 40 police personnel.

Patra claimed that the violence was part of a “nefarious design” by Congress to create disturbances similar to those seen in Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines.
