Star Trek legend William Shatner has been rushed to hospital after becoming ill at his home in Los Angeles. ‌

The 94-year-old Hollywood star is believed to have had a medical emergency on Wednesday involving his blood sugar levels, which required an ambulance . However, sources have since told TMZ he is now "resting comfortably" and doing "good". ‌

Shatner appeared as Captain Kirk in the Star Trek franchise, from the TV series in 1966 to the seventh feature-length film, Star Trek Generations, in 1994. He still has several upcoming projects, including a part in new series The Elevator. ‌

Following his glittering seven-decade career, he also appears at fan events, and was on a panel at Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia, just last month, the Mirror reports .
