CALEXICO — The Calexico City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday afternoon to adopt a resolution ratifying the declaration of a local emergency due to the severe storm that struck the city on September 18, 2025.

The declaration, enacted via Resolution No. 2025-61, is a critical first step toward accessing state and federal disaster relief funds. The meeting, which has been expected to begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Fernando “Nene” Torres Council Chambers, had a single, urgent item on its agenda.
