Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain is likely to lash several parts of Odisha as a low-pressure area is set to form over the Bay of Bengal in 12 hours and it may intensify into a depression on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.
Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation, a low-pressure area is likely to form over north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours. ADVERTISEMENT
Moving nearly westwards, it is very likely to concentrate into a depression over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha- north Andhra Pradesh coasts on September 26. It is very likely to cross south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts around September 17 morning, the IMD said in a special bulletin.
