DYERSBURG, Tenn. - An inmate in a Mid-South jail died after being found unresponsive in his cell on Wednesday, according to the Dyer County Sheriff's Office (DCSO).

DCSO said jailers found Deandre Pickering deceased around 5:38 a.m. on September 24. Pickering was housed alone in his cell at the time, and no foul play is suspected in his death, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office ordered an autopsy for Pickering, notified his next of kin, and said that it would launch an investigation into his death. Those findings will be submitted to District Attorney General Danny Goodman for review.
