BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed condolences on the passing away of SL Bhyrappa and met family members at Ravindra Kalakshetra, where Bhyrappa’s body was kept for public view. CM said that the literature world has lost a great personality. Bhyrappa studied from high school to MA in Mysuru and his novels have been translated into 40 languages.

“He was born in a small village, but he made a significant contribution to the literary world. He used to say that writing novels gave him immense satisfaction. Although I couldn’t read all his novels, I have read a few. “May his soul rest in peace,” CM said.

Responding to building a memorial for Bhyarappa, CM said, “The government will take all necessary steps to build a memorial in Mysuru. We will build a memorial for him. I think
