R Ashwin has signed with Sydney Thunder for BBL 15, becoming the first male Indian player to join a Big Bash League club. The 39-year-old off-spinner, who retired from international cricket last year and more recently from the IPL, will join the Thunder in early January to boost their campaign for consecutive BBL Finals appearances.
