The games aren’t getting any easier for Auburn football.
After losing 24-17 to Oklahoma in last week’s SEC opener, the Tigers’ next assignment is a road game against No. 9 Texas A&M.
The Aggies are 3-0, coming off a bye week and their head coach, Mike Elko, has one of the best reputations in the country as a defensive coach. However, Texas A&M’s defense statistically doesn’t match what Auburn faced last week at Oklahoma.
The Aggies rank 103rd in the country in scoring defense, 72nd in rushing defense and 66th in total defense. That’s different from Oklahoma, who currently ranks in the top 10 in two of those categories, and 22nd in rushing defense.
Texas A&M’s numbers come from three games played so far, with two of them coming against Group of Five opponents.
