HURRICANE GABRIELLE:

Hurricane Gabrielle has weakened to a Category 1 storm in the central Atlantic. As of Thursday morning, Gabrielle was producing maximum sustained winds of 85 mph while moving E at 32 mph. Advertisement

Forecast guidance shows Gabrielle reaching the Azores late Thursday night into Friday, where a Hurricane Warning is in effect. Hurricane conditions are expected across the islands, especially in the southwestern quadrant of the storm.

IMPACTS :

Azores: Hurricane Warnings issued. Strong winds, heavy rain, and dangerous surf expected tonight into Friday.

Bermuda: Rough seas and swells continue as Gabrielle passes well east.

U.S. East Coast and Atlantic Canada: Large swells and rip currents likely from the Carolinas through Atlantic Canada over the next few days.
