ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - A house fire in Cave Spring on Wednesday evening, September 24, displaced two people and multiple pets.

Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department received a call at 10:25 p.m. of a structure fire in the 3800 block of Hyde Park Dr.

First responders arrived to a wooden frame structure with heavy fire showing from the back deck. Two residents were able to escape along with 6 birds and a dog with no injuries, according to first responders.

The fire was extinguished in 15 minutes, said the Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department.

The Roanoke County Fire Marshals Office is still investigating a cause of the fire along with an estimate of the damage.
