GROVE CITY, Ohio (WCMH) - The Grove City, Ohio Petland store at the center of a statewide debate almost ten years ago has closed.
The battle is over where pet stores can get their animals, with a focus on banning puppy mills. Petland is a company that has been repeatedly accused of selling dogs from puppy mills, a claim it denies.
Many in Central Ohio are touting this Grove City store closure as a win, while a Petland spokesperson says it has nothing to do with what happened 10 years ago.
The debate goes back to 2016. It involved action in Grove City and at the state level. Now the store is closed and those who wanted it say this is what happens when consumers speak out.
