Seven current and former University of the South students have alleged in a new lawsuit that toxic mold in dorm rooms caused "life-changing illness" to some residents.
The lawsuit seeking more than $35 million was filed on behalf of seven students and their families against the university in Sewanee, Tennessee. The plaintiffs contend the mold issue was ignored by the administration and blamed on the students.
The 53-page suit was filed Tuesday in Franklin County Circuit Court by Elizabeth Grace Bandy, Lily Bowers, Jenna Ballard, Hannah Crawley, Hollyn Fox, Abigail Lee and Cassandra Nicotera and their families, according to a statement from their attorneys.
