A large tree that has fallen in the roadway has temporarily closed SR 39 at County Road 470 in McMinn County Thursday.

The road is between Riceville and Athens.

TDOT Smartway maps show that the tree has blocked traffic since just before 10:00am.

The eastbound left lane (of two lanes) is blocked.
