NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 36-year-old woman is accused of impersonating a medical professional to steal medication from a patient at Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville earlier this month.
The incident happened on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at around 4:40 p.m. at the hospital located on Church Street.
Marissa Jean Denton, of Clarksville, was reportedly an employee at the hospital until January 2024. According to Metro police, Denton entered a patient's hospital room with a nurse inside under false pretenses.
When the nurse left to attend to other duties, Denton is accused of using a plastic syringe to draw 4 ml of Propofol from the patient's active drip device.
Investigators noted Denton was not authorized to withdraw the drug, which could have cause serious medical issues for the patient.
