Scuderia Ferrari Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has posted a worrying health update on his Instagram story about his English bulldog Roscoe, urging fans to keep him in their prayers.

Roscoe was adopted by the seven-time world champion in 2013, the same year he joined the Mercedes AMG F1 team. Since then, Roscoe's guest appearances at F1 weekends have amused fans. He has his own fan following on Instagram of 1.3 million, making him a much-loved four-legged celebrity.

He has been alongside Hamilton for most of his successful career with the Brackley-based outfit, a partnership that secured eight Constructors' Championships and six drivers' titles. Unfortunately, 12-year-old Roscoe looked very ill in Hamilton's latest story update. He wrote:
