WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Pentagon has announced the termination of a long-standing group dedicated to supporting women in the military. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made the decision to eliminate the program, which has been in place since 1951.
The group focused on advising certain forms of uniforms and healthcare procedures for women in service. However, Secretary Hegseth described it as a "divisive feminist group" with an agenda that he believes harms combat readiness.
The decision marks the end of a decades-old initiative aimed at supporting women in the armed forces.
