ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department announced it is investigating a homicide that happened early Thursday morning. Police said it happened on Sheridan Avenue.

Officers reported responding to the 300 block of Sheridan Avenue near Henry Johnson Boulevard for reports of a stabbing around 6:10 a.m. Police found a 29-year-old man between two buildings with stab wounds to the abdomen.

The Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel treated the victim on scene and transported him to Albany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police say the investigation is ongoing and will not release the victim's name until proper notifications have been made.
