WARREN An 11-year-old child was shot in the hand in Warren late Wednesday after gunfire was reported at a home on the city’s Northwest side.

Police were dispatched to a residence on Roosevelt Street NW near Ogden Avenue around 9:54 p.m. Wednesday for a report of gunfire.

Officers found evidence of a shooting, including 11 silver and brass casings in the front yard and damage to an exterior window and siding of the home.

The child, whose name was not released due to his age, was transported by EMTs to St. Joseph Warren Hospital for treatment of the hand wound.

The incident is being investigated as felonious assault and improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation.

Police have listed two unknown individuals as suspects in the report.
