A Bracebridge motorist had his day in court after a case of road rage turned criminal.
Appearing recently in a Bracebridge courtroom. Jamie Kirk, 34, pleaded guilty to mischief and careless driving.
Court heard that on Aug. 2, 2024, Kirk became upset with another motorist he was following on Wellington Street. Kirk passed the vehicle on the right, jumping the curb and nearly driving up on the sidewalk. When the other vehicle stopped, Kirk jumped out and slammed the victim’s window with his fist. He then took a golf club from his own vehicle and began striking the rear passenger door of the victim’s vehicle, denting it.
Kirk was sentenced to a conditional discharge, a $1,000 fine and 12 months’ probation.
