Nongpoh, Sept 25: In a shocking incident that has caused fear and concern among local residents, a nine-year-old boy from Bir village narrowly escaped an alleged kidnapping attempt on Wednesday evening, thanks to the swift response of villagers who launched an immediate search.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on September 24 when the boy’s mother had sent him to collect pig feed from a relative’s house nearby. When he failed to return despite repeated calls, she raised an alarm, prompting her husband and the village leaders to mobilise residents for a search operation.
During the search, villagers first found the pig feed container. It was only around 6:20 p.m. that one villager discovered the missing boy in a nearby forest. He was reportedly found unconscious,
