A Massachusetts man died in a fiery two-vehicle crash on Route 119 in Rindge on Wednesday night, police said.

Rindge police and fire personnel responded to the area of #422 US Route 119 at 9:16 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a two-vehicle crash involving entrapment, a vehicle fire and serious injuries. With help from a good Samaritan, Rindge police officers were able to extinguish the fire, officials said.

Rindge police said an initial investigation determined that a 2018 gray Ford Fiesta was traveling west on Route 119 before attempting to turn onto Old Ashburnham Road, turning into the path of a gray 2023 Jeep Compass heading east on Route 119.

The two vehicles collided head-on, then rolled together for over 100 feet before coming to a stop on the eastbound shoulder of Route 119. The
