The Delaware-born Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant chain closed all 16 of its locations on Sept. 25, two weeks after shuttering its original Newark location and two others in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

An e-mail sent to customers around 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 25 was entitled, "Iron Hill is permanently closed."

"After many wonderful years serving our communities, all Iron Hill locations have closed. It has been our pleasure to serve you, and we are deeply grateful for your support, friendship, and loyalty over the years," it read. "We sincerely hope to return in the future, and when we do, we promise to welcome you with open arms."
