President's threat to revoke the licenses of broadcasters who negatively criticize him or his actions is more like the pronouncements of a totalitarian dictator such as Adolf Hitler of Nazi Germany or Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union or Mao Zedong of Communist China than a president of the United States.

Presidents have always experienced negative criticism, but they do not normally threaten to shut down their opposition by using the government as a political weapon.

Whoever thinks that broadcasters may not express opposition to the president rejects the First Amendment, which protects freedom of the press. The president must have never read the Constitution if he thinks his main job is to eliminate his opponents.

His main job is to enforce the Constitution.
