MORRISTON, Fla. (WCJB) - Sheriff’s deputies arrested a traveling veterinarian accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl in Marion County.

On Wednesday, deputies arrested Gregory Ford, 52, on the charge of sexual assault of a minor child between the ages of 16 and 17.

Sheriff’s deputies say the victim first reported the abuse to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama. She explained that for the past two years, she worked for Ford, an equine veterinarian, as he traveled around the county. During that time, they engaged in a sexual relationship.

Due to the interstate travel, the FBI was involved in the investigation. Agents then submitted the case to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, as Ford’s home address is located on Northwest 112th Place Road in Morriston.
