CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A former Carolina Panthers player was arrested late Wednesday night, records showed.

Court documents showed that Amare Barno -- who played for the Panthers from 2022-2024 -- was accused of “running at” and pushing his ex-girlfriend. He was subsequently charged with assault on a female and domestic violence.

Documents showed the allegations happened on Sept. 17, but Barno was not arrested until Sept. 24.

Barno appeared in court Thursday morning and was appointed a public defender and had his bond set at $5,000. Upon his release, the court ordered that he is not to have contact with the ex-girlfriend.
