A 62-year-old man has died following a serious collision on the M60 motorway this morning. The incident occurred at approximately 5:35am, between Junction 8 for Carrington and Junction 9 for Trafford Park.

The man's vehicle, a gold Renault, reportedly struck the central reservation. Emergency services were called to the scene, but the driver succumbed to his injuries shortly after the crash.

Greater Manchester Police have launched an appeal for information regarding the incident. In a statement, they said: "Officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision this morning (Thursday 25 September, at 5:35am) on the M60 motorway, clockwise between Junction 8 for Carrington and Junction 9 for Trafford Park."

The police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, witnessed the crash itself, or possesses dash cam footage of the incident.
