SEATTLE — As part of a broader restructuring effort announced Thursday morning, Starbucks has shuttered both of its "Reserve" locations in Seattle.

A company spokesperson confirmed to KING 5 Thursday that the Capitol Hill Reserve Roastery and the Starbucks Reserve Store inside its global headquarters building in SODO have closed.

CEO Brian Niccol announced that about 900 employees will be laid off and many open positions will be eliminated in a public letter on Thursday morning. Niccol also said the company was planning to finish the year with about 1% fewer open locations than in fiscal year 2024.
