Police are scouring bushland northeast of Perth to locate the body of a man who mysteriously disappeared earlier this year.

Jayden Stewart Selfe, 33, last had contact with his family in May.

A tip off to police three months later led forensic investigators to search his home on Money Rd at Attadale, in Perth’s south, for five days.

Acting Senior Sergeant Lee McKnight said on Tuesday detectives had been searching an area northeast of Wanneroo for the past four days and had found a number of items that were significant to their investigation .

The detective said they uncovered information during their investigation that led them to the bushland area.

Those items could be linked back to Mr Selfe’s Attadale property where he had been living for the past few years.
