On Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that work on the Mumbai Central Park, slated to span 300 acres, is expected to commence soon with a detailed project report (DPR) already prepared. Shinde was speaking during the Swachhta Hi Seva drive, which kicked off September 17 and is scheduled to continue until October 2.

Apart from Shinde, other participants of the Swachhata Utsav drive, which is a part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, were state cabinet minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha and senior officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) including municipal commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.
