BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) released accountability grades for the 2024-2025 school year. According to the newly released data, 80.1% of schools and 87.2% of districts in the state earned a grade of C or higher.
Mississippi’s accountability grades are intended to inform teachers, school leaders, parents, and communities about how effectively their local schools and districts are serving students.
South Mississippi school districts receive A’s and B’s for MDE 2023-24 school and district accountability grades
The accountability grades consider several factors, including student proficiency and growth in English Language Arts (ELA) and math for grades 3–8, as well as science proficiency for students in grades 5 and 8.
