HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - 911 lines are down in parts of South Mississippi, leaving emergency responders looking for alternate means for people to seek help.

Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley said his department is experiencing a county-wide outage.

“We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible,” the department said in a statement.

If you are experiencing an emergency in Harrison County, you are urged to call 228-297-4852.

Other departments in Missisisppi are also reporting outages, including Hinds County.
